Hi Jason, very well explained video ❤ How is the Westcott, FJ 80 II M Flash in comparison to Godox V1 or Godox V860 iii, in terms of quality, ttl Accuracy, colour temperature and durability?

Nice job on the video and work... I do about 1200 - 1500 headshots a year, Houston, San Antonio, Austin DFW... You have it down.

This is a great tutorial. Really appreciate you sharing your work flow from start to finish.

I'm 52 this year. On and off with photography as amateur through my high school and college, then a little client job in my late 30s and I've been getting into more and more serious amateur photography and getting better. Recently (8 months maybe) I started watching instructional videos on YT and learning even more seriously. And only then did I find out for the first time in my life there's a branch of photography called "corporate headshots", which I understand are different from portrait and slightly different from "glamour", as these are styles and that is a line of work. I'm still getting to terms with the market of this thing. I don't think we ever had it here in Poland, we don't have a tradition for it, only with the arrival of big American companies - I guess, I never worked - things have been changing. But I don't think enough to make a living for more than two or three photographers in my area and I reckon they're already working it.

I’m a longtime Canon shooter, I shot the Canon 1D line for years and now I’m using the R5 and the R6mkii and I don’t get the Leica hype. That’s what it is to, just hype. I can’t the Leica delivering any better images than my R5. Especially without auto focus. I mainly shoot weddings and events and the Leica does not just isn’t fast enough to keep up. Sure I can using it on a tripod to do landscapes, but my Canon can do it all.

Can you tell us where you got the little tripod you use to hold the reflector?

10/10 on the re-touch..... but if this was one of my shots, I'd have rejected it outright due to the odd hotspots from the lighting. Maybe I've just been too picky.

That second shot should be used as a example for beginners how to use flash and make it look like natural light.

People have normalized the exploitation of human beings as production machines to such a degree that it is incomprehensible to them to understand that when a person earns a living wage building high quality products with their hands and minds, it drives the price up. It should never be that “at this price it should have auto focus”. Maybe ask the question, how does canon get the prices of their products sow low? 🧐

How do you send the finished photo to clients can you show that process. Size etc

The canon r6ii's AF is not great so having a modelling light in dar clubs will be handy

there should be an on, off and lock button on the flash so power can't be changed once locked. The bad battery power is worrying. Maybe wait for mark iv, but when will that come out?

Its a matter of taste of course, but imho the teeth should not be overwhitened, they became unnatural. Great tutorial by the way.

Someone just inquired me about booking me for a session exactly like this one considering all the gear I have to bring in the editing I’ll have to do the location and the duration. But also considering this will be the first time I’m shooting business head shots/portraits like this how do I price this person?
